NaturaStone is an Australian made quartz surfacing material, available in several colours and styles.

NaturaStone combines the splendor of natural quartz with the resilience of a high performance acrylic polymer.

NaturaStone provides a durable and elegant worksurface, enhancing any decor in any style. It can be applied over existing benchtops as part of a renovation, or as a new installation.

The proprietary formulation and processing technique produces a unique and premium, yet economical, surfacing material.

The NaturaStone Advantage

Locally Made: NaturaStone is manufactured in Australia. This makes it readily available and less expensive than many other quartz stone products. It also ensures that the manufacture adheres to the highest quality standards.

Thinner is Better: NaturaStone slabs are typically 6mm thick, compared to many other commonly used quartz stone materials where slabs are commonly 20mm thick. The thinner slabs, comprising over 90% quartz, are just as durable and long lasting as thicker materials (NaturaStone is backed by a lengthy 12 year guarantee), yet are significantly easier to cut and polish. For the customer, this translates into a number of unique advantages:

Perfectly Scribed Finish:
Being thinner, NaturaStone is easier to work. This enables extremely accurate cutting and scribing, ensuring your benchtops fit even the most complex outline perfectly.

Quality Assurance:
The fact that NaturaStone slabs are thinner and lighter than comparative products allows NaturaStone benchtops to be fabricated at the site of installation. This means that products are checked for fit and quality throughout the standard fabricate and fit process. No more relying on hastily made templates which tend to shrink or expand under varying conditions of moisture and temperature, leading to poor fit even if they were accurately made in the first place.

Convenience
:
NaturaStone surfaces are fabricated at the site of installation. This means that the entire process, including measuring, cutting, polishing and fitting, takes place consecutively.

Compare this to 20mm thick slab processing where products have to be fabricated in a distant factory using templates usually prepared by the cabinet installer. This is a time consuming process requiring a visit to site to collect templates (often not very accurate), then a waiting period during which  the benchtops are fabricated in the factory. Only then can they be delivered and installed. If at this stage there are any issues, the stone needs to be removed from site and taken back to the factory for modification. With NaturaStone you can get your stone benchtops installed perfectly almost immediately!

Flexibility:
Being only 6mm thick, NaturaStone slabs are far more flexible than thicker stone slabs. This means that, unlike 20mm thick quartz stone products, NaturaStone can be used for curved surfaces. See examples in our picture gallery.

The other major advantage of this flexibility is that NaturaStone can "bend" under load without cracking. NaturaStone is glued on to a thick (typically 32mm) high mosture resistant particleboard substrate, or to existing benchtops, using 2 pack epoxy resin glue, Once this glue has set, the stone and substrate effectively become one composite material which cannot be separated. This combination can deflect under heavy load, and spring back once the load is removed without cracking the stone surface.

Conversely, 20mm stone is usually placed on a few blobs of silicone on 18mm thick MDF board. Once the silicone sets it acts purely to prevent the benchtop from sliding horizontally, but provides little or no vertical support. Excess downward pressure onto a narrow part of the stone (eg. around sink or hot plate cutouts) may well cause the stone to crack.

Affordable:
The on-site fabrication of NaturaStone benchtops eliminates the need for costly overheads such as factories and large, heavy stone cutting machinery. This enables us to provide NaturaStone benchtops for a lower price than many other 20mm quartz stone materials.
